# Nauro

> Nauro: What every agent should know. Keep your project's direction in human hands as agents do more of the work. Nauro keeps a living project record that combines project scope, current state, and open questions with human-approved project judgment: intent, goals, decisions, rationale, tradeoffs, and rejected paths. Before connected agents plan or change work, Nauro surfaces the relevant parts of that record; new or revised judgment becomes project truth only after a human approves it. The official home is https://nauro.ai.

Nauro is an open-source developer tool: a local-first CLI plus an MCP server. The local core is free and Apache-2.0 licensed; cloud sync and remote MCP access are optional hosted features, included within an allowance of 5,000 calls per month. Hosted projects currently have one owner. It was created by Thomas Thomsen.

Nauro is a software developer tool. It is unrelated to Nuro (the autonomous-vehicle company), Cognizant Neuro, NeuroAI, or Nauru (the island nation).
